Intensive Evaluations

This week has turned out to be pretty intense when it comes to the triplet's education. We had met with the Education coordinator in January to review our concerns for the girls and to answer some questions. From that point, the school legally has 60 days to complete all evaluations and have a follow-up meeting with us. I have been asking the teachers if they knew the status of that because I had not heard anything. Well, I got a call on Monday morning from the Child Study Team at the school, stating that the 60 days is over this Friday and they had only begun to evaluate the girls (for Kindergarten readiness). So...they asked if I could bring the girls in for an hour on Tuesday morning and an hour on Wednesday morning. Of course I agreed.

The girls were being evaluated individually by the school psychologist and the education specialist. They have already worked with the teachers, Speech therapist and Occupational therapist. Yesterday, I dropped off Megan and Madison. Today, I dropped off Morgan and Madison. (I will create a separate post about how I spent my one-on-one with the other girls!)

Then this morning I got a call from the social worker at the school. Tim and I had to meet with him this afternoon to review the girls' history from pregnancy through the current. Doesnt sound that difficult, until you consider we had to do that times three! Try remembering who was the first to roll over, who walked when, etc!
Of course, it seemed to have all gone well. We have a meeting tomorrow afternoon to meet with the entire team to review their findings. I will definitely keep you posted.

At this point, there are 3 basic options for each girl:
1. Not Kindergarten ready, stay in preschool for an additional year
2. Regular Kindergarten (AM) then Support Kindergarten (PM)
3. Attend only regular Kindergarten (AM or PM, our choice)
