Fun Family Barbecue!

We were blessed enough to be invited to a special Summer BBQ at Carl & Anita's house in PA on Saturday, July 26. Tim was away, so it was the girls and I, plus Mommom and Poppop came with me. So we arrived around 3pm and stayed until after 9pm! What a fun day. The main reason for the party was to celebrate the fact that Anita's niece was visiting from Australia with her boyfriend for a week. But it was also a chance to celebrate summer together!

They were expecting close to 100 people throughout the day (not all at once, thank goodness for them), but it was a busy day. Also, poor Ryan was recovering from a pretty yucky sickness from the week before the party, so he only wanted his mommy and daddy all day.

The food was phenomenal - and there was so much of it! And of course lots of desserts as well.

During the party, my cousin Karen and her kids Julian & Madeleine were able to come! They couldnt stay long because Karen had to go to work, but it was great to see them. And of course the kids played together the whole time they were there!

Plus my brother Sean and his wife Holly (Boochy) came after he was done work around 6pm. Because of Sean's crazy work schedule, we havent gotten to see them as much as we'd like to. It was a special treat to meet up at this party! And Boochy even had a few little dragonfly gifts for me, so sweet.
(the people in this pic you dont recognize are Jen and her parents)

And friends of ours, whom we've only seen a handful of times since we moved, were there - Jen and Greg! I have been friends with Jen since we were in 10th grade of high school (so almost 18 years, wow!!) She was actually in Tim's Kindergarten class and knew him growing up since then. Jen and I used to do scrapbooking every week together and the girls adore Greg! Their little eyes lit up when they saw him arrive :)

Just before we left, Carl set off some awesome fireworks - I mean the real kind like the professionals use. It was a lot of fun (although the triplets dont like the sounds they make) ...we enjoyed that little show before we were on our way back home. It was a great day!
