In the spirit of playing catch-up with our summer fun, here are some fun pics from a few beach excursions we had a few weeks ago.
An old friend of ours Noelle & her husband Shawn (neighbors from PA) called to say they were staying at their Sea Isle City house for a mini-vacation and asked us to go meet up with them. So on Friday, August 15, the girls and I drove down and spent the day with them. It was Kaitlyn's best friend Jennifer -- you have no idea how excited they were to see each other! Kaitlyn still misses her. But it was like they never missed a beat. They chatted the entire time and had a blast together!
The triplets are basically the same age as Jennifer's little sister Laura so they played together well also. Jennifer's twin brother Kevin kind of stayed away from the girls (pretty typical for an 8-year old boy I think), so unfortunately I didnt get any pics of him.
We had a fun day at the beach (including some Pina Coladas - yummy!) Then we went back to their house for a fabulous dinner.
We had a great day with them and really enjoyed our time in Sea Isle!
The following day, Saturday, the girls and I went to meet our friends, the Corbett's, at their Ocean City house for some more fun at the beach! It was great, we have 7 kids all together and they play together so well. Kaitlyn and Blake did some boogie-boarding. The triplets, Madeline & Paige all ran through the waves. Plus of course lots of fun playing in the sand! Then Jen and I decided to do a little 'photo shoot', and I think we got a few good pics. It was so much fun and the kids cooperated (for the most part!)
After all that fun at the beach, we went back for the World's Greatest outside showers! I'm telling you, that made our day complete - sounds silly, but there is nothing like coming back and getting a refreshing shower before moving on with your evening! (Thanks Jen!) We are so blessed to have become friends with possibly the greatest family here in Linwood...
Once everyone was showered and dressed, they had Mack n Manco pizzas delivered to the door! Now c'mon, it doesnt get any better than that! We ate to our hearts content and it was so yummy! Then Jen's dad had spoiled us with all kinds of ice cream treats and desserts. Unfortunately, Madison started running a fever that evening which continued into the following day. Thankfully, it went away as quickly as it came and no other symptoms showed up. No clue what brought that on, but Motrin kept it under control and she was better within 24 hours.
Other than the fever, it was an all around perfect time! What a wonderful day... I'm telling you, it was one of the best of our summer. Have I mentioned how I love living here? :) (other than missing our PA chums of course!!)

It sounds like the summer was a blast! I am so glad you are happy in NJ!!!
What cute pictures! Can this easily be called the most fun you've ever had in one summer? Wish we could have joined you for one last romp in the waves!
