Before school, we had a special bagel breakfast with candles (our little tradition to put candles in birthday breakfast) and we all sang Happy Birthday to the girls.
At school, they made special birthday crowns to wear, which were so darn cute.
After school, my mom and I took them out to Wendy's for lunch (Tim was out of town and Pops was at work).
We actually took special 'birthday naps' for a bit in the afternoon (they were so tired). When Pops got home from work, we went to TGI Fridays for dinner (Kids Eat Free...yippee!) The service was really slow so we were there from 6-9pm (way too long) but it was fun because all of the servers came out to sing to them and they got candles in their dessert. It made them feel so special.
After our long day, we came home and they opened presents from Mommom and Poppop and Tim & I. They got new boogie boards, books, sunglasses, beach towels, swimsuits, nightgowns, dresses, etc.
What a fun day!!
Saturday, August, 9, 2008 -- Triplet's Family Party
We had to wait until it was Tim's official time off before we had everyone over for their birthday party. So this past Saturday was the only opportunity and it worked out great. Thankfully the weather was perfect (the day after was strong Tstorms all day) so we got lucky.
Everyone arrived around 1pm and we had about 35 people here... family from PA :) We served hot dogs & chicken breast, macaroni & potato salad, chips, baked beans and other goodies.
The cake was from ShopRite and it was beautiful! Kaitlyn and I had gone to pick it out a few days prior to the party, so her input was definitely helpful. It was Ariel from The Little Mermaid and came with one bracelet - Kaitlyn's idea was to buy 2 extra bracelets so there would be one for each triplet. She's so creative!
The girls got some nice gifts and more importantly was how special they felt to have everyone there to celebrate with them!!
